Registered address requirement

AunTel emergency calling is routed based on the E911 address registered to your account or phone number. If that address is wrong or outdated, emergency responders may be sent to the wrong location.

Power, internet, and device limitations

  • Emergency calls may fail during power outages, internet outages, network congestion, device failure, browser failure, account suspension, or unavailable service.
  • Unlike traditional landline service, AunTel cannot automatically know your physical location unless you keep your registered address current.
  • If you call from a different location, you must tell the emergency operator your actual location immediately.

Routing limitations

VoIP 911 calls may be routed through emergency call centers, public safety answering points, or provider networks based on the registered address and network availability. Routing delays or failures may occur.

User responsibilities

  • Enter a valid E911 address during registration before using voice services.
  • Update your E911 address immediately when your service location changes.
  • Inform household members, employees, contractors, or other users of these emergency calling limitations.
  • Maintain an alternate emergency calling method, such as a mobile phone, especially during power or internet outages.

Acknowledgement

By using AunTel voice services, you acknowledge that you understand these E911 limitations and agree to maintain accurate registered address information at all times.
